Over the Memorial Day weekend, White Dove played at Salmon Lake Bluegrass Gospel Festival in Grapeland, Texas. Salmon Lake's a great place. There used to be a town in East Texas called Salmon Switch where Floyd Salmon grew up. Floyd owns the park and puts on the festivals there. The railroad by-passed the town and the town died. Floyd moved most of the town to his property and created his own town, along with a lake and a natural amphitheater with a stage. Floyd turned many of the buildings into cabins that he rents out. He also has hook-ups for over 100 RVs. It's a great place for a festival, with plenty of picking room, lots of trees, etc. White Dove resurrected a patriotic medley that we used to do, and the crowd loved it, standing and removing their hats. On Sunday night, we did the evening service at First Baptist Church of Grapeland. This is the third year we've done that. Ron was baptized in this church, and there are still a lot of folks there who remember him and his family.
